Mark Twain famously apologised to a friend for sending such a long letter — “because I didn’t have time to write a short one”.
I’ve experimented with ultra short posts, which in fact this one is going to be. Here’s what I’ve discovered.
First, by the time you have found something to write about, written it, sourced a suitable illustration, tagged it and hit "Publish", you might just as well have spent a few minutes extra time on publishing a full length blog post. Basically I discovered that a blog post of, say, 50 words doesn't take a tenth of the time required to write a blog post of 500 words. It's more like a third to a half. Sometimes even longer.
On the other hand, I am a firm believer in not stuffing an article with words just for the sake of it. Once you’ve said what you need to say, why add anything else?
