Although this book is quite old (2007), it contains a great deal of useful advice. Now, you might argue that a lot of good advice is to be found on the internet, and you would be right. However, you will only find it if you know what to look for. The beauty of this volume is that it contains lots of snippets that might not occur to you.
For instance, as a result of being ripped off out of several thousand dollars’-worth of books, Poynter suggests limiting orders from unknow buyers to $50.
There is also food for thought on the subject of where to place your book. In this regard, a small display in a photocopy shop sold well, whereas the more obvious location of a computer store did not.
I think even if you decide to self-publish using a third party service rather doing it all yourself, you will find useful ideas in here plus things to look out for.
